Biography

My story, my journey.

He began playing electric bass at a young age, gaining experience in clubs across the Campania region alongside musicians from the Neapolitan scene and exploring a wide range of musical genres.
His first public performance took place at the age of 16 with a rock band that played songs by America, James Taylor, AC/DC, Level 42 and many other artists of the time.
He studied the methods of Jaco Pastorius — his great and unique artistic inspiration — and deepened his knowledge of bassists such as Stanley Clarke, Mark King, Louis Johnson and many others.
During this period, he continued to refine his skills by collaborating with numerous musicians from the Campania area. At 19, he began a musical collaboration with Carlo Manguso, Pippo Cerciello and Elia Rosa in a fully fusion‑oriented band. Their repertoire included pieces by Weather Report (album 8:30), Charlie Parker, Pat Metheny, Freddie Hubbard and other artists known for their high technical complexity.
Born into a family of musicians, his earliest experiences were with his father Paolo and later with his brothers Guido and Michele, respectively pianist and guitarist. Thanks to their extensive musical background, he had the opportunity to refine his craft in several recording studios in Campania and Lazio, including Zeus, Rico Record, Al Parco di Campanile e Gigi De Rienzo, Audiostar, Studio 1111 by Claudio Mattone, and Studio Palumbo in Via Teulada (Rome).
He contributed to recordings for Michele Zarrillo, Fiorella Mannoia, Pummarola System and many other national artists.
Another fundamental experience was with a renowned Neapolitan group featuring guitarist Michele Montefusco, percussionist Peppe Sannino, drummers Roberto Ciscognetti and Tony Ciliberto, and saxophonist Rino “Shellon”, with occasional appearances by Marco Zurzolo on baritone sax. These performances in some of Naples’ most iconic venues remain unforgettable.
He later met Stefano Palatresi and collaborated with him for two years, performing in Rome’s top venues (Jackie O’, Notorius, Hysteria, Gilda and others), together with his brother Mike on guitar and Jerry Popolo on saxophone.
After the Palatresi experience, he joined Patty Pravo for a tour that began in Sottomarina di Chioggia (Venice) and ended in Sciacca (Sicily). He appeared on several Rai television broadcasts, including Superclassifica Show live from Acireale, and a major live event from Trento broadcast simultaneously on all three Rai networks for the program Italy for Stava (featuring the memorable Patty Pravo / Ornella Vanoni duet). For four years he took part in both studio recordings and tours with Pino D’Angiò. He then spent five years touring with Gianni Nazzaro. Another significant collaboration was with the Italian production of Sergio Orso alongside the legendary Buddy Miles. He recently released his first solo work, B5W6 (2021), collaborates on the project of Italian‑American pianist Sonny Olsen, and continues to contribute with dedication and professionalism to numerous productions at AUDIOSTAR, his brother Guido’s studio, playing both electric and double bass.
